Our social value goes beyond our bottom line; it’s created through the many social initiatives we support, which have a direct positive impact on the world around us. At the heart of this work is our commitment to support the development of a fairer and more inclusive society.

Equal Opportunities

We’re creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome, valued and can thrive.

We recognise that our work around diversity and inclusion is essential for creating healthy workplace cultures, better decision-making, delivering better outcomes for our all of our stakeholders. We also know that Financial Services continues to lag behind other sectors in Black representation, and more effort is needed to widen access, drive social mobility and change cultural norms. Together with our parent company, Chesnara plc, Countrywide Assured has partnered with the 10,000 Black Interns Foundation to deliver development opportunities for underrepresented young Black talent across the UK. As part of this programme, our interns can make meaningful contributions to our business, whilst acquiring the skills and knowledge needed to launch their careers.

Living Wage

We’re proud to be a Living Wage employer.

As a Real Living Wage employer, we pay the real living wage in the UK. We also engage our suppliers on social sustainability standards, which includes the Real Living Wage. We believe the campaign makes an important contribution to raising the profile of paying a suitable wage to employees, to support living standards and building community wealth. That’s why we donate time and expertise to boost awareness of the campaign across Preston, working alongside Preston City Council and other locally accredited businesses to increase the number of residents that are paid a wage that enables them to live a healthy and fulfilling life. We’re proud to play a part in promoting the economic and social wellbeing of our local community.

Charitable Giving

We’re supporting inspiring charities to help make a difference.

In 2025 Countrywide Assured and Chesnara joined forces with the UK’s leading financial capability charity, The Money Charity. As part of a three-year partnership, our business will provide vital funding towards the delivery of financial education workshops, to empower people of all ages and backgrounds with the skills, knowledge, attitudes and behaviours to make the most of their money throughout their lives. As a responsible business, and one that aims to provide financial security to our customers and their families, this new partnership is a great opportunity to support wider conversations around the importance of financial management and to increase financial wellbeing for all. This partnership adds to our existing charitable work, including our corporate volunteering work, seasonal giving campaigns and workplace Give As You Earn Programme.

Corporate Volunteering Days

We’re making a positive contribution to our communities.

By leveraging our skills and knowledge through volunteering, Countrywide Assured is playing its part in creating a more inclusive and sustainable society. Our volunteering policy gives all staff up to 2 days’ paid leave per year to participate in an organised event or to spend time supporting a cause that’s close to their own heart. Over the years, our colleagues have made meaningful contributions to the work of St Catherine’s, Lancashire Wildlife Trust, Trees for Cities, RSPCA, Career Ready, Royal Preston Hospital, St Peter’s Hospice and many more incredible organisations.
