This
is a brief description of this plan. For full details
of all the aims, risks and benefits, please refer
to your Policy Provisions or contact our Customer Helpline.
Product Description
The Mortgage Protection
Plan is a term assurance Policy designed to provide you with valuable
protection for your home
over the full term of your mortgage. The Policy offers a range of
flexible Benefits (detailed below), along with additional options
and features,
to cater for your changing needs and circumstances.
The Policy provides flexibility for you to choose an adequate
level of protection to suit your mortgage protection needs and
allow
you
to change your Benefits and levels of cover as your needs change
in the future.
This Policy is purely for protection and will not accrue a value.
Benefits
The valuable
benefits which your Policy provides will be shown on your Policy
schedule. There may be one or more of the following:
Death
Benefit
If you die during the Policy term this amount will
be paid by your Policy and could be used to repay a mortgage
loan, provide a financial comfort zone for your family or
provide your family with the means to maintain their standard
of living.
Critical
Illness Benefit
If you are diagnosed with one of the critical illnesses covered, the Critical
Illness Benefit will provide a lump sum which could be used to repay a mortgage
loan, to pay for expensive medical treatment or provide the means to
buy specialist equipment to aid recovery or to maintain an acceptable standard
of living.
Mortgage
Payment Protection
Benefit
If you are unable to work due to sickness or accident, we will pay you a monthly
benefit to help you meet your mortgage payments and or other financial commitments.
This additional source of income is designed to help relieve the serious financial
strain a sudden drop in income can put you and your family under.
Premium
Protection Benefit
If you are unable to work due to sickness or accident, we will pay the Policy
premiums for you until you are able to return to work.
Can
I Change My Protection Benefits As My Circumstances
Change?
You can apply to change any
benefits at any time.
You may also be able to add
new protection benefits to your Policy.
Can I Increase
The Term Of My Policy? If you extend the term of your
mortgage, you can apply to increase the term of your Policy.
What If I Move
Home?
If you are moving house and require an increase in Death
Benefit, you will usually be able to increase your cover. If
you meet some basic criteria, this could be without further
medical information. If you increase the period over which
your mortgage is to be repaid, you may able to increase the
term of this Policy, again without the need for further medical
information.
What Happens
If I Stop Paying Premiums? Your protection benefits will
cease. If you should then die or become ill, your
home may be at risk.
